Nicholas Paiardini had a method. Over the past year he had worked with more than 200 clients and taken over 50 of them to bodybuilding competitions, and the way he programmed training was his own. The trouble with a method that lives in one person's head is that it can only be in one place at a time. He wanted it in an app, and he had wanted it for two years.

The work started with conversations rather than code. We sat with him and went through how he actually makes decisions: why he programmes one way for one client and differently for another, what he looks at first, what he ignores entirely. That became the training material. The model behind NP System is trained on his judgement and on the literature he rates, not on generic fitness content, which is the difference between software that knows training and software that knows his training. We built it through our embedded engineering practice, working inside the product rather than delivering against a brief.

NP System is sold to gyms, who put it in front of their members, and every member gets a plan built the way Nicholas would build it. We designed the interface around how people actually use an app mid-session, mapped out the SEO so it can be found as it grows, and worked alongside him on sales and marketing through launch. It is now running in 27 gyms across Europe.
